Bio

Hannah Shapiro is a first year PhD student in the Graduate Group in Ecology. Her primary research interest is integrating social science and policy into wildlife health monitoring and management efforts. Her current research focuses on identifying the role of community-based organizations in groundwater management in California. Prior to UC Davis, she was a researcher at the Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources at the University of Georgia. Her work focused on understanding government and interested parties' response to rabbit hemorrhagic disease in the U.S. She holds a B.S. in Fisheries, Wildlife, and Conservation Biology from NC State University and a M.S. in Fisheries and Wildlife Science from the University of Tennessee.
