Hannah Shapiro is a PhD candidate in the Graduate Group in Ecology. Her work leverages mixed methods and policy- and public-engaged research to study collaborative arrangements in the fragmented system of One Health implementation. Her current research involves mapping One Health networks in California and investigating animal and human health practitioners motivations for collaboration. She is also involved in building the Wildlife Health Alliance of California, an interorganizational collaborative aimed at building wildlife health capacity throughout the state. Prior to UC Davis, she was a researcher at the University of Georgia studying rabbit hemorrhagic disease management. She holds a B.S. in Fisheries, Wildlife, and Conservation Biology from NC State University and a M.S. in Fisheries and Wildlife Science from the University of Tennessee.
