Bio

 

Sara is a PhD student in the Geography Graduate Group studying how communities in California collaborate to reduce their shared wildfire risk through local planning and community-led prescribed burning. She is also working on a project studying how cities make decisions about preparing for floods and other environmental hazards. Sara strives to conduct usable, applied research and is also affiliated with the Center for Community and Citizen Science, where she has worked on evaluating UC ANR’s Climate Stewards program and researched climate change related citizen science projects. Before starting her PhD, Sara worked on air pollution reduction programs for the State of Texas. She received her B.S. in Environmental Science and Management from UC Davis in 2019.
