Catherine Courtier

I am a PhD candidate in the Natural Resource Economics and Policy Lab at UC Davis, within the Department of Environmental Science and Policy. My research focuses on the intersection of natural resource management, marine ecology, and fisheries management. I use econometric techniques in addition to models in animal movement ecology and geography to assess how commercial fisheries respond to changing ocean conditions. Before coming to UC Davis, I got my M.A.S in marine biodiversity and conservation at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, and then worked for California Sea Grant for four years where I worked on projects related to aquaculture, marine protected areas, and artificial reefs in addition to managing their research and fellowship programs.
