Speaker: Linda Estelí Méndez Barrientos
Linda is a PhD candidate at the Center who founded a public engagement initiative named S2E - Science to Empower with another lab colleague, Dr. Jessica Rudnick. Together, they have been working with local partners in Ecuador on various projects. Linda will present the team's work on a country-wade database that tracks the organizations (positive and negative), the commodities and type of extractive projects they engaged or opposed, and the strategies used to implement or resist these environmental justice cases. The goal of this work is to put a face to the complex transnational relationships that facilitate environmental justice conflicts in Ecuador.
