Bio

Isabella Ingersoll is a first year PhD student in the Geography Graduate Group. Her primary research interest is the social-equity dimensions of the green energy transition; specifically, the policy implications of renewable energy development in rural communities. Prior to UC Davis, Isabella worked in rural Colorado and New Mexico, researching the experiences of ranchers living in the backyard of large-scale wind farms. Her research interests are supported by her draw towards human-landscape connections, which stem from years of experience as an outdoor educator. Her past experiences working as a backpacking guide, ski instructor and farmer have affirmed her joy in learning from and teaching with the land. She holds a B.A. in Environmental Studies from Colorado College.
